Book Week Kupenga!

Kia Ora,

Last week was book week and we did all sorts of fun activities. And we’re going walk you through it.

First, on Monday we started a book chain, then on Tuesday we had to dress up as a character of any book of your choosing. We have also been reading the novel ‘RUNT’ by Craig Silvey. During Reading we were able to choose CREATE tasks about RUNT. We made pipe cleaner dogs and constructed 3D dog kennels. On Wednesday we had a BOOK QUIZ and it was extremely fun. Our last task was to create a window display about RUNT. Look at our photo, do you like our window display. The best class window will win a prize. To finish the week we watched some of the RUNT movie. Book week was exciting and educational.

Term 2 was FUN!

We had our Learning Celebration and Ako Meetings last week. Our Learning Celebration was all about FAMOUS NEW ZEALANDERS. We learned how to write correct sentences and put them together to form paragraphs. Then we wrote a REPORT about our famous person. Next we manipulated wire and aluminum to make a statue of the our person. We displayed them proudly at our celebration. Can you spot them on our highlights page below? It’s been a busy term filled with learning and many positive experiences for the children in KUPENGA.  Thank you for your support! We have attached a ‘HIGHLIGHTS’ slide for the last five weeks, you can see our children engaged in many learning activities 🙂
